Designed with a chic black & white color palette, Marina & Brett’s Eastern Shore wedding was one for the books! As always, Meghan with House of Catherine didn’t disappoint. Bold design was front and center, with lots of touching nods to the couple and their families incorporated throughout. Not just anyone could make modern design on the Eastern Shore work. Enter Meghan! She was able to seamlessly combine the relaxed feel of the Eastern Shore with modern design choices. The result was a picture-perfect wedding that felt fun, memorable, and welcoming for guests!
Marina & Brett’s black & white color palette started at cocktail hour and carried on throughout the rest of the night. For cocktail hour, the couple opted for a combination of low seating and hightop tables. Our Penn Bentwood Chairs contrasted beautifully with the pale linens on the low tables. Sol Black Cocktail Tables were also scattered throughout the space so guests could mingle and rest their drinks. To finish things off, elegant arrangements full of white blooms adorned the tables.
A Big & Bold Bar for Cocktail Hour
With so many chic details, it’s hard to pinpoint the centerpiece of cocktail hour. That being said, an extra large version of our Blagden U-Shape Bar was one of the focal points. Set to wrap around one of the property’s trees, the bar felt like it was made for the space. Decked out with more gorgeous floral arrangements from Monteray Farms and customized with white decals, the Blagden has never looked better!
Bouncing Into Cocktail Hour
Marina & Brett’s wedding was full of memorable guest experiences. One such experience? This moon bounce from Bounce & Boujee! Our Siren Marquee Sign was set up next to the moon bounce with the message, “Parents just wanna have fun!” The perfect invitation for guests to relax and let loose, the moon bounce set the tone for the evening.
A Space to Lounge
This was one of the Crew Pergola’s first big outings and it looks ah-mazing! Complete with three sections, this 28’ natural wood pergola made a big statement at cocktail hour. Seating vignettes were set up under the Crew so guests could lounge throughout the night. In keeping with the couple’s color palette, the seating areas were centered around black and white pieces. Favorites like our Lola Settees and Keaton Chairs were paired with blush beauties like our Sloane and Roy sofas. Touches of rattan and natural wood tied everything together. So dreamy! Would you believe that there was a literal monsoon the day before the wedding? After lots of back and forth with the couple’s vendor team, we worked around the weather and were able to make House of Catherine’s amazing vision a reality!
Reception Reveal
It’s always such a treat to see the bride & groom’s reaction when they finally get to see their wedding dreams brought to life! For the reception space, House of Catherine opted for a mix of black and white tables and chairs. Rectangular tables were interspersed with round tables covered in stylish linens. Tables were decked out with dramatic floral arrangements and gorgeous greenery was hung over the dance floor.
Time to Eat!
Our Alexandria and Capitol tables were set up in long rows for dinner. Inspired by George Nelson’s slatted coffee table design, these tables manage to throw it back to the 60s while still retaining a modern feel. Designed to make a statement, the unique slatted design of the base was perfect for this couple’s vibe! For contrast, white tables were paired with our Ace Black Masters Chairs. The Alexandria Black Tables were paired with Mia White Masters Chairs.
Place settings differed from table to table! Our Alexandria Black Tables were set with Noah Wood Charger Plates. The deep wood of the Noahs contrasted nicely with our Glaser Black & White Dinner Plates. The look was finished off with matte black flatware and our Sensa Glassware. So chic!
A Non-Traditional Guest Book
In lieu of a traditional guest book, guests were invited to record a message for the bride and groom. (Peep the subtle nod to the groom’s career as an eye doctor!) Our Kent Phone Booth was the obvious choice here. Set up alongside our Hudson Mailbox, guests could drop off cards and record their message all in one go. And because every detail was customized to the couple’s vibe, decals were added to both the Kent and the Hudson!
I Love this Bar
SAME, tbh. We might be a little biased, but we also love this bar. Because the wedding had such a large guest count, everything was supersized. To create an extra long bar, the couple added a 7′ section to our 12′ Woodley Bar. The extra space gave guests plenty of room to maneuver AND it made for a dramatic statement piece at the head of the tent. Incorporating wood accents throughout the event kept the black & white color palette from feeling too cold, and we think the Woodley Bar was the perfect choice for the reception tent!
Talk about a fairytale ending to this stunner of a wedding. As the reception came to a close, fireworks went off overhead and it was nothing short of magical! We always love working with House of Catherine and Meghan REALLY knocked this one out of the park. We’re so looking forward to being back on the Eastern Shore with her next year!
