We hope you enjoyed the first installment of our Merry & Bright Twelve Days of Christmas photoshoot! We’re back today to showcase photos from Days 5-8. In the photos below, you’ll see everything from cheesy Christmas decor to Santa’s post office. We even include major inspiration for a colorful Christmas table, because who says you have to stick with traditional red and green?!
Day 5: (Kitschy) Elf on a Shelf
Our collection of vintage and handmade items is constantly growing! This means we spend a lot (a lot a lot) of time scouring flea markets, eBay, estate sales, etc. The inspiration for Day 5 stemmed from here! We wanted shelves decked out with super fun, retro Christmas decor. Think: the kind of things you might find in your grandma’s basement. The tackier the better! To achieve this effect, we incorporated a mix of seasonal decor and year-round inventory items. Santa figurines, vintage ornaments, and rainbow bottlebrush trees brought the holiday cheer. We even showcased a (slightly sinister) vintage angel figurine! To take things to the next level, we incorporated go-to rentals like our Timber Candlestick Holders, Scarlett Candy Dish, and XXS Disco Balls.
Day 6: Color Block Christmas
Color blocking was the theme for Day 6! Designed around our Palm Springs Backdrop, we wanted each panel to feel like its own little world. Using the colors from the Palm Springs as our inspiration, we set up Christmas trees and coordinating furniture in front of each panel. Our Vixen & Cupid Christmas trees were the obvious choices for our pink panels. At the base of the Cupid, we used our Pinkie Faux Sheepskin Rug in lieu of a traditional tree skirt. From there, we transitioned into blue and orange where we opted for a more midcentury vibe. Our Comet & Blitzen trees made an appearance here, and we designed the final section to feel like you were looking into a living room! Our Clementine Chair sat facing our Lauper and Turner retro TVs, which we stacked and set alongside the Blitzen.
Day 7: Santa Mail!
For Day 7, we transformed our Thurmont Post Office Window into Santa’s Post Office! The Thurmont was the centerpiece of this day, but we still needed a festive backdrop. To achieve this, we wrapped an 8’x8’ backdrop in red and white wrapping paper! Mail slots were filled with letters to Santa, gold votives, and pine for a touch of greenery. We also made sure to include milk & cookies for Santa! Christmas cookies were artfully arranged on our Pearl Cake Stand, and milk was left out in a clear pitcher similar to our Tipper. To top it all off, Laura Hooper created a beautiful scroll banner for us!
Day 8:
Dawn took the lead on Day 8 and created a massive flat lay to showcase our colorful china collection. We love to branch out from traditional Christmas colors when decorating, and the photos from Day 8 prove that bright colors can be festive too! Our Wisteria, Circe, Amalfi, Citrine, and Soleil plate sets are the obvious stars here, but take a closer look and you’ll see so many other fun pieces from our collection sprinkled in. We’ve got iridescent accents (we’re looking at you Lorelai, Trixie & Sabrina!), colorful vintage glassware, and pops of metallic! To keep the holiday vibe alive, vintage ornaments and colorful bottlebrush trees were scattered throughout.
That’s a wrap on Days 5-8! Stay tuned for the final installment of our Twelve Days of Christmas holiday extravaganza. We’ll be back with another post on Friday to share Days 9-12 with you!
