The pandemic has thrown so many couples for a loop, but Stephanie and Neal decided to go with the flow and adjust their plans for a more intimate wedding ceremony at home in DC! Surrounded by their closest family and friends, this couple wed in their very own front yard which they transformed with the help of Springvale Floral. We brought in a variety of our upholstered furniture to give their space a cozy and relaxed feel where guests could lounge and take it all in! Despite intermittent rain showers and a pandemic to boot, Stephanie & Neal’s wedding day turned out so beautifully. The photographs featured below by the talented Meg Lucks and Lisa Ziesing of Abby Jiu Photography truly capture the magic of the day, and we hope you enjoy this glimpse into our wonderful couple’s big day!
Planning a wedding amid a pandemic is no easy feat, and Stephanie and Neal took it all in stride! When they adjusted their plans and decided on an intimate wedding in their front yard, they knew a gorgeous floral installation would be the perfect backdrop for their ceremony. The talented team at Springvale Floral created this over-the-top beautiful installation complete with flowers in all the blush, mauve, and lilac hues! The result was so romantic, and created such a beautiful backdrop for Stephanie and Neal to say their vows in front of. If you’re as obsessed with this look as we are, be sure to check out our recent blog post on another Covid wedding that took place earlier this year! After an intimate wedding ceremony at the DC War Memorial, our sweet couple went home to find that Springvale Floral had completed decked out the front yard of their DC row house with the most gorgeous florals. Such a beautiful day!
A seating area made up of our Warren Sofa, Lindsay Settee, and Collins Chairs was a great spot for guests to take a seat during both the couple’s intimate wedding ceremony and the cocktail hour style reception that followed. Incorporating upholstered pieces like ours helped to give their front yard a super cozy vibe that was perfect for the low-key romance that permeated the day. In addition to larger pieces like the sofa and settee, Stephanie and Neal also brought in items like our Aries Rattan Ottomans to help enhance the lounge vibe, and to provide additional seating for guests!
We always recommend topping off your seating areas with some fun throw pillows, rugs, and end tables to tie everything together! In this instance, Stephanie and Neal chose an assortment of textiles in lilac, blush, and sage hues to complement the dusty blue and amethyst colors of the Warren and Lindsay. In addition to pillows like our Primrose, Charlotte, Blossom, and Laurel, the couple incorporated our Amira Tassel Pillows for a hint of metallic and an added dose of glam! To finish off the seating area, they brought in pieces like our Janice Coffee Table and Twiggy Side Table. The brass finish of the tables was super elegant and romantic, plus the tables gave guests a spot to rest their drinks while they lounged!
Stephanie and Neal treated their guests to three signature cocktails: Neal’s spicy marg, Steph’s Spritz, and even a “Tropical Trotini” in honor of their beloved Frenchie, Trot! They set up this gorgeous Signature Cocktails sign on one of our Vincent Small Gray Easels and displayed it for guests to peruse during their relaxed reception. Despite the stress of planning a wedding in the midst a pandemic, Stephanie and Neal remained positive. They kept things light and fun throughout their big day, and even served Neal’s spicy marg juice box style! Juice box + a spicy marg = yes, please!
Everything might look dreamy in these gorgeous photos by Meg Lucks and Lisa Ziesing of Abby Jiu Photography, but Stephanie and Neal’s big day was actually a bit chaotic! Off and on rain showers throughout the day threatened to bring this outdoor wedding to a halt. Luckily, our delivery team was on-site to rescue all of our pretties at any moment! Our Weather Team service is always a great idea for outdoor weddings, and if the weather isn’t looking too hot as your wedding day approaches, we always recommend hiring our team to stay on-site so they can cover your rentals or move them to a safe, dry place at a moment’s notice.
The pandemic has thrown a wrench into so many wedding plans, and we love seeing couples like Stephanie and Neal embrace the chaos and celebrate their love with intimate weddings at their very own homes. Stephanie and Neal had such a great attitude throughout the whole process, and we feel beyond lucky to have played a small part in their big day. Congrats, Stephanie and Neal, and best wishes for a lifetime of love and happiness!
