We’ve been spending a lot of time in Philly lately, so we thought we’d dedicate a post to showcasing some of our favorite Barnes Foundation weddings! Not only does the Barnes boast an impressive collection of art, but it also serves as an incredibly versatile space for tying the knot. With a variety of event spaces to choose from, the Barnes Foundation is a great setting for weddings, engagement parties, rehearsal dinners, and more. If you’re in the process of planning your fairytale wedding and are looking for a venue that will serve as the perfect backdrop for your big day, look no further! In the photos below, we’ll show you how a couple of our past clients turned the Barnes into an unforgettable setting for their weddings by utilizing our unique wedding rentals.
Setting the Stage: Ceremony Ideas for Barnes Foundation Weddings
For their ceremony on the terrace, this couple kept things relatively simple. Rows of our Alix Rattan Chairs were set up facing a dramatic floral arbor. The minimalist design of the chairs felt right in line with the modern architecture of the venue, and their honey-colored hue helped to soften up the space. They also helped set the tone for the wedding and gave a little hint at what guests would find in the reception space!
Transforming Spaces: Using Slatted Wood Arched Panels in Your Wedding Decor
Natural wood elements were incorporated throughout the wedding’s design. Instead of traditional escort cards, this couple opted for a sleek seating chart which they displayed on a variation of our Nevada Slatted Wood Backdrop! Accented with an organic floral arrangement, the display felt true to the couple and fit right in with the Barnes Foundation’s refined architecture.
Creating an Impact with a Fluted Wood Statement Bar
A grand space like the Barnes needs a grand bar, so obviously a statement bar was in order. For their big day, Jamie & Henry opted for our Pascal Natural Wood Fluted Round Bar. Nothing says ‘big day’ like impactful decor choices, right? The dramatic size of the bar helped to fill up the space and the natural wood detailing tied in with other design elements featured throughout the reception.
The Barnes Foundation: The Perfect Canvas for a Modern Wedding
We love how open the reception space is at the Barnes Foundation. Not only does it feel spacious and modern, but it’s a blank canvas that can be totally transformed to your taste! At this reception, a mix of round and rectangular tables were in play. The rectangular tables were set in a U-shape to help direct focus to the dance floor, and table were paired with our Wye Wishbone Chairs. The midcentury design of the chairs is based on Hans Wegner’s iconic chairs from the 1950s, so they feel right at home in a venue that’s all about art and design.
The Magic of Mixing: Assorted Black Dining Chairs Combine for a Stylish Reception
For this stylish wedding reception at the Barnes, the couple opted for a mix of dining chair rentals to add interest to the space. At the sweetheart and head tables, guests were seated in our Penn Black Bentwood Chairs. All of the other tables were paired with our Nikola Black Rattan Dining Chairs, which feel simultaneously boho and modern with their sleek black frames and natural caning. In keeping with the modern boho vibe, tables were flanked with wild, oversized floral arrangements. The resulting look perfectly suited the dramatic reception space at the Barnes!
Amber and Copper: A Sophisticated Palette for Your Wedding Table Settings
Guests were seated at long rows of rectangular tables, which not only suited the impressive reception space, but helped to create an intimate, family-style feel. Complete with linens with gold floral embellishments and topped with warm, organic floral arrangements, the tables felt natural and inviting. The warmth continued into the table settings which included our Inez Amber Fluted Glassware and Nola Copper Flatware!
We hope you enjoyed this dive into a couple of our favorite Barnes Foundation weddings! There are so many ways the impressive space can be transformed, and we love seeing how clients personalize it in different ways. If you’re planning your own wedding at the Barnes, bring us your vision and we’ll see how we can help turn your big day into a masterpiece!
