Recently featured on Martha Stewart Weddings, this stylish September wedding at The LINE DC was one for the books! Tyler & Nick wanted a relaxed yet sophisticated vibe for their big day, and Karson Butler Events helped to bring their vision to life. A mix of bold colors and textures permeated the day, including emerald invitations, eclectic seating areas, and dramatic draping. The couple’s ceremony and cocktail hour took place on the venue’s rooftop so that guests could fully appreciate the sweeping views of the city, and a stylish ballroom reception followed inside.
The couple was drawn to The LINE DC because of the venue’s stunning rooftop views, so the rooftop space was the obvious choice for the couple’s intimate ceremony. The couple stood on our Roshan and Claudia rugs as they exchanged vows, and our Wye Wishbone Chairs offered seating for some, while other guests stood and circled Tyler & Nick.
Our Phoenix 10′ Bar and Bar Back were the focal point of the couple’s cocktail hour. Adorned with smilax, beautiful floral arrangements, and vessels filled with fresh fruit, the Phoenix’s dramatic wood and copper design took center stage. Guests continued to enjoy the rooftop views throughout cocktail hour, and bartenders served the couple’s signature drink, a Whiskey Smash topped off with edible flowers. So stunning!
For a chic spot to lounge post-ceremony, Tyler & Nick paired an eclectic mix of furniture for a relaxed yet stylish vibe. In keeping with their bold color palette, they opted for plush pieces like our Ames Emerald Sofa. The couple paired the Ames with our Autumn Rattan Chairs for even more texture, and layered a variety of vintage rugs including our Fez and Rami. String lights and greenery chandeliers topped off the sophisticated bohemian space.
For the reception, Tyler & Nick opted for a mix of round tables and farm tables. In keeping with their luxe color palette, the round tables were draped in rich blue and emerald velvet linens. The large ballroom was also draped with luxe emerald fabric to help distinguish areas, and a mix of our Wye Wishbone and Penn Black Chairs flanked the tables.
The herringbone design of our Ivy City Tables perfectly mirrored the wooden floors in the lobby of The LINE, so Tyler & Nick opted to keep these tables bare. They topped off the Ivy City with chic black plates (check out our Onyx Collection for a similar look!), a mix of clear and amber glassware, and cozy amber votives. The result was a reception space that felt both intimate and luxe all at once!
A small lounge area was set up off of the dining area so that guests had a spot to lounge following dinner. We brought in more jewel tones for this seating area, and paired one of our Ainsley Emerald Settees with our Silvestre Black Velvet Chairs. To tie everything together, we accented the space with our Luna Rug, brass end tables, and Havana Palm Pillows for a touch of whimsy!
