Whether you’re looking for Alice in Wonderland wedding inspiration or are in the midst of planning your very own Valentine’s Day party, the Queen of Hearts theme at last year’s Love Brunch is sure to inspire you! Grit & Grace’s whimsical design captured the fun, playful spirit of Alice in Wonderland while still maintaining an elegant and sophisticated look and feel. Hosted at Salamander Resort in Middleburg, VA, the luncheon features an eclectic mix of black and white chairs, an abundance of pattern play, and bold rental furniture that offers the perfect blend of fantasy and elegance. Are you ready to fall down the rabbit hole?
Creating Your Own Wonderland: Rental Ideas for Alice in Wonderland Wedding Inspiration
By deftly balancing vibrant hues and bold pattern, Grit & Grace struck the perfect chord between whimsy and elegance! In keeping with the Queen of Hearts theme, tables were topped with red and white plaid linens. Not only did the bold color and pattern of the linens set the tone for the luncheon, but they were also a playful nod to the Queen’s iconic aesthetic! Tables were paired with an eclectic mix of modern black and white chairs which kept the look fun and quirky, while staying true to the spirit of Alice in Wonderland. Remember, in Wonderland, not everything has to make sense. Don’t shy away from playing with scale or mixing patterns!
Tabletop Extravaganza: Maximizing Place Setting Appeal
The queen of pattern play, Grit & Grace didn’t disappoint when it came to the table settings! A maximalist lover’s dream, place settings included our Glaser Black & White Plates and Zed Gold and Black & White Striped Flatware. Plates were topped with playful menu cards designed by Emily Baird. The creative menu cards were both functional and decorative, plus they helped draw guests into the fantasy world that inspired the luncheon. The devil’s in the details!
Serve it Up in Style: Statement Bar Ideas
While the linens brought a big splash of color, the majority of the other design elements featured a chic black and white color palette. One of the major focal points of the party was our Blagden 12′ Black Slatted Bar. Our Dabney Black Circular Bar Back sat behind the bar, along with one of our Asher 12′ Boxwood Hedge Walls which felt like it was straight out of Alice’s fantasy world! Whether you’re planning an intimate Valentine’s Day luncheon or a grand Alice in Wonderland-themed wedding, we believe a smashing statement bar is always in order!
Say Cheese: Creating a Whimsical Photo Booth Experience
Every good party needs a photo booth- pics or it didn’t happen, am I right?! For this Queen of Hearts-inspired luncheon, Grit & Grace created a fanciful photo booth by setting our Olivia Black and White Settee in front of one of our O’Keeffe Custom Painted Backdrops, which we painted black for the occasion. The Louis-style settee was flanked by whimsical, oversized white flowers which not only provided visual interest, but perfectly complemented the theme of the day!
We hope you enjoyed your journey down the rabbit hole! With a little inspiration from this Queen of Hearts-inspired luncheon, let your creativity shine and add your own personal spin to the whimsical world of Alice in Wonderland when planning your next event. There’s no limit to where your imagination can take you!
