This National Portrait Gallery wedding reception brings the wow factor by mixing neutrals with bold splashes of color! After a last minute venue change, Bella Notte pulled together an exceptional design in just six months! By keeping it simple with neutral linens and assorted dining chairs in shades of white and black, the decor allows the incredible architecture of the Kogod Courtyard to shine. Bright accents in the form of a pink statement bar, colorful glassware rentals, and incredible floral arrangements break up the neutrals and add splashes of color. The result is a fun and eclectic wedding reception, and a great lesson in how to liven up your very own DC wedding!
How to Infuse Color into Your Wedding Decor
Bold color choices can truly transform a wedding. Not only are they visually striking, but they can help to create a vibrant and memorable event! This National Portrait Gallery wedding reception achieved a dramatic, modern aesthetic by contrasting mostly neutral table linens and dining chairs with bold pops of color. The contrast of these colors against the neutral backdrop created a truly striking result!
Letting the Venue Speak: Neutral Tables and Modern Dining Chair Rentals
With the help of their planner, Bella Notte, this couple opted for classic linens and table settings, but paired them with modern chairs in shades of black and white. Inspired by French designer Philippe Starck, the sleek, minimalist design of our Mia White Dining Chairs complemented the wedding’s design and didn’t detract from the vibrant accents scattered throughout the reception space. All in all, the combination of traditional and modern design elements mimicked the mix of contemporary and classic architecture of the Kogod Courtyard!
Making a Bold Statement: Colorful Vintage Glassware and Bold Floral Arrangements
Our vintage glassware rentals come in a variety of colors, shapes, and patterns. When incorporated into table settings like these, they not only serve a functional role, but a decorative one too! The unique designs and vivid hues help to make the table settings more interesting and also add a pop of color that brightens up the entire space. The power of contrast! For this wedding reception, the couple livened up their neutral color scheme by incorporating a mix of glassware including our Ray Estelle Yellow Champagne Coupes, Como Assorted Dark Blue Vintage Goblets, and Ursula Assorted Dark Purple Vintage Goblets. Bold floral arrangements topped off the look for an added pop of color and visual interest!
Creating the WOW Factor with a Pink Statement Bar
A statement bar can be a major focal point of the reception space! It’s more than just a place to serve drinks; it’s a design element that can be used to express the couple’s personality and help set the tone for the event. This couple opted to combine two of our Rosewood 6′ Pink Bars to create a dramatic 12′ statement bar. For even more color, our pink bar was topped with a stunning floral arrangement courtesy of Sophie Felts!
When used strategically and creatively, splashes of color can completely transform the feel of a wedding! We love how Bella Notte incorporated color into this National Portrait Gallery wedding reception. The combination of modern and traditional elements used throughout the space felt true to the couple AND accentuated the incredible reception space.
