We are SO humbled to be selected as one of Washingtonian’s Best Wedding Vendor for 2016! Last June, we were notified that we were chosen as Washingtonian Bride and Groom’s Best Wedding Vendors for 2015 as well–and I realized I never even publicized it…at all! It has been my goal ever since starting Something Vintage in 2012 to be selected for this very prestigious distinction. After all, I always look to Washingtonian when selecting doctors and when I got married, I looked to Washingtonian for their recommendations as well.
Why didn’t I publicize it, you ask? I don’t get very personal on this blog often, okay, scratch that—I never do. But I’ll divulge that last year, shortly after finding out I was pregnant with my now 8 week old son Hank, I was seriously considering shutting down Something Vintage. In fact, I had discussions with the rental vendor community telling them that I’d refer them business because I simply didn’t know how I could balance running a rental business and caring for a baby! It was a challenge to meet the growing demands without a kid, how on earth could I do it with a newborn?!
After a great deal of reflection and support from our SVR Team (especially Tiffany), my amazing husband, and the vendor community, I decided to forge ahead full-force with Something Vintage but not without making a few changes to Something Vintage that I will discuss in the coming weeks. Get excited! (We are!) And now, we’ve been selected for the second year in a row for Washingtonian Best Wedding Vendor. Thank you to all of the amazing clients, fellow vendors, and SVR team who made this possible! I truly couldn’t do it without you.
